So I got my Intel iMac yesterday, and today I got VoodooPad building as a Universal Binary. It was all pretty straight forward, just lots of extra compiling of external libraries and such, and knowing which options to setup in the build settings. So I'm planning on the next minor release of VoodooPad (which will be 2.5.3) to be a Universal Binary.

Go Intel.

Or something like that.

It's all so very strange to me, I don't think it's completely sunk in yet. There's an intel box sitting right next to me.   Intel, the evil chip. Or so I've been led to believe for allll these years.

Anyway, I'll start working on FlySketch in just a little bit as well- it has some actual code that needs to be tweaked as opposed to just compiling options. FlyGesture will be updated as well. All free updates of course.

...

So far the iMac ("Iceman" named after Albert Collins) is running pretty well. Front Row had a couple of crashes and there has been a little bit of Finder strangeness, but for the most part everything is good. gcc is certainly faster. Subversion compiled in 5 minutes, 16 seconds on my dual 2.7 g5 with 1.5 gigs of ram. It compiles in 4:32 on the 1.83ghz intel mac with 1 gig of ram. Which makes me happy.
